Think about it…what does it mean for you to standing in your light? Is that not all we are asked to do. To show up for. To stand fully in the recognition that we are the light. It might be a little deep, but yoga reminds us that we are on a journey or a path to move toward enlightenment, samadhi. There are different understandings of moving towards the light in many traditions. The point of the journey, for me, is to stand in our light, this is enlightenment. Perhaps being enlightened will allow you to transcend the hardship of life, but maybe it is just a simple daily recognition that we are the light. To breathe deeply and connect to what you love and engage with a sense of belonging. To be in the light or be in the darkness. I realize it is not that simple, but the more we consider, reflect, move and with recognition of our light, then we show up for each other, and maybe it makes it all worth it. Having purpose, direction and know that we are not alone, that the light is every present…just might be what gives us power in our life to be present and able to honor life, keep it together and show up for the moment.
