A NEW BEGINNING – YOU WITH ME?
When we show up for life we discover it is full of magic and mystery. Though sometimes it can just feel down right miserable or mundane. Have you ever been there – no frills and a heavy dose of hardship? Yet the BOUNDLESS POTENTIAL is always here for us when we choose to begin again. And when we make this choice we find ourselves at a new beginning. Yet we have to choose – again and again.
Then there are moments in life that tell us we are beginning anew. When we have a birthday – we are starting a new year in life – a new journey around the sun. A new job is a new beginning. A new house, a new friend, a new opportunity. Then of course a new year is a beautiful opportunity for a new beginning. Every breath. The choice to embrace your true self. Every week, month, new moon. The opportunity to start again are endless.
Sometimes life mandates we start over. Sometimes we get to choose. Regardless, we have to declare and claim the new beginning, the new opportunity. This post is here to help you invoke your true self, support a growth mindset and encourage discovery, joy and courage.
INNOCENCE & NEW BEGINNINGS
What comes up with a new beginning is a bit of innocence, curiosity and the importance of trusting in the unknown. There is probably some fear, uncertainty, overwhelm and insecurity too. That is what happens when we are choosing to live with our body, mind, heart and soul – we feel all kinds of feelings. But what if we could choose our perspective and choose to focus on how a new opportunity or a new beginning brings freedom, spontaneity and the courage to take risks?
There is an innocence that comes when we are starting a new chapter. The potential is boundless which can trigger insecurity, overwhelm and uncertainty. But with a little tenacity we can also see that we can step forward choosing the baggage we want to – or not – carry with us.
We can open our mind, heart and soul to the new experience that sits before us. Intentionally, honoring any fear, concern of failure, judgement or doubt. This is always a possibility. But so is being open to moving forward without the fear, judgement, failure or self doubt. Trusting that you have everything you need within to begin anew.
LEAP OF FAITH
This can seem a bit foolish. Stepping forward trusting in life and that the universe will support your every move requires a leap of faith. There has to be a willingness to embrace the adventure before us even if the path isn’t clear. So we call on a level of unconditional love. We establish reminders, or collect evidence, of how we are supported.
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE & POTENTIAL
Strengthening our own capacity for self love, compassion and intuition will help as we traverse this new beginning. It is going to require an examination of your core beliefs – however the universe is here to support us. Every single one of us has an inner wisdom that is also here to support us. We also have one another that lovingly support us as well. We can strengthen this perspective when we also keep in mind that life is not a linear unfolding. So every moment is an opportunity to create, explore and transform.
CHILDLIKE WONDER
When we can see the world, these new beginnings as a trigger (yes there can be triggers that invoke joy) with fresh eyes and a sense of curiosity, we can release the cynical patterns, the skeptic and take interest in the adventure. Exploring with childlike wonder brings forward an invitation to reconnect with joy, playfulness and awe. This means we will need to soften our edges, connect with our inner spirit and bring a little lightheartedness to our daily interactions.
TRUST IN INTUITION
Calling in the perspective that the new beginning is not linear, we are supported by the universe unconditionally, and bring in awe and wonder, we can make plans and instead of relying on logic alone we can trust our instincts. Calling on your gut is a deeply rooted survival mechanism that everyone contains. New beginnings are a brilliant threshold to begin to emphasize the importance of turning toward our inner compass, trusting in our intuition to guide the way.
VULNERABILITY & AUTHENTICITY
Creating practices where we learn to cultivate clarity within will mean we have to let go of our need to figure it all out and armor up to protect ourselves can feel incredibly vulnerable. Yet this is a sign of authenticity – where you are being true to you at a soul level. Our open heart can create opportunities where we cultivate genuine connection and growth. Vulnerability does not need to be an unsupported exposure but rather a grounded presence of authenticity. The trust that has been built within will allow us to embark on a new adventure aligned with our true nature.
COURAGE TO FACE THE UNKNOWN
Here we are again – a leap of faith – faith in the universe, in ourselves and faith in the notion that we are unconditionally loved. Sure it can sound risky to the logical (and skeptical mind). Let’s be real – there is risk. There are absolutely no guarantees in life other than we are guaranteed an opportunity to live so failure is a real possibility. We are here to live and living requires healing, restoring, growth and potential. So we cultivate courage to face the unknown. Bravely stepping into the uncertainty with steadfast connection to the possibility.
INTEGRATING BODY. MIND, HEART & SOUL
This can sound like work – bringing our whole self together to take on a new beginning. However the invitation to begin again is here for us with every breath. As is the invitation to gaze skyward knowing the heavens are shining down on us and we are connected to spirit and our higher selves. Feeling our feet on the earth, the foundation of our experience, touching down to the energy that rises to meet us. Creating the courage of the heart to recognize the potential within and before us while knowing we have everything we need to navigate the path ahead. All of this requires us to bring together the known and unknown, the seen and unseen, the value of integrating the physical, mental, spiritual and emotional into life’s journey. Why not start now!
LIFE LESSONS
Reminding ourselves that we get to begin and have the courage to begin anew might just be the sacred essence to every journey, moment and breath that life offers each and everyone of us. Choosing to embark on a new beginning can feel relentless and sometimes the challenges of life can feel like it is absent of purpose or meaning. These are the lessons of life.
DON’T WAIT FOR ANSWERS
We won’t ever be fully ready. If we wait for certainty then we might miss out on life completely. Readiness comes more from willingness – opening ourselves to grace. By stepping forward we discover the path and the journey is revealed to us.
EMBRACE IMPERFECTION & REMAIN OPEN
Mistakes are inevitable and a major aspect of life. We have to be okay with messing up. Mistakes often bring out unexpected discoveries as well. Discovery is what brings growth and growth is what we are here to do. Life’s journey is not fixed. When we embrace imperfection we can welcome the detours and surprises as part of the process.
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, TRUST & FREEDOM FROM JUDGEMENT
Love and support are ever present; we simply need to anchor reminders and practices that connect us to this level of presence. This can feel hard when we focus on societal expectations, compare ourselves to others or in a place of exhausted survival. Yet we are going to find a lot more satisfaction when we are authentic. Sure this means we are going to be a tad bit vulnerable when we free ourselves from the judgement and fear of how we are being perceived. So we come back to trust in the unconditional support of the universe and double down in the trust we have for ourselves.
EVERY ENDING IS A NEW BEGINNING
The end of one moment is always the start of another. Until your last breath, the end of every exhale allows for an inhale. The end of one year ignites the celebration of a new one. As one door closes another opens.
REFLECTING ON YOUR OWN JOURNEY
Now that we are at the end of this conversation give yourself some time to reflect on your own process. This point of transition, the threshold of where you are in life right now. Taking the time to allow for inquiry and reflection will help you integrate the process and invoke clarity, trust and opportunity.
Grab your own journal and write out your thoughts or simply find a quiet space to consider the following:
What new beginning am I stepping into?
How can I embrace curiosity and trust in the process?
What fears hold me back from taking the leap?
How can I reclaim trust in myself, life and the process of stepping into the unknown?
What lessons have I learned that support me now as I step forward to this new phase?
How has my past shown me I am capable of moving through uncertainty?
Where can I invite more trust into my life starting with today?
What ways have I been supported even when I didn’t recognize it at the beginning?
In moments of doubt or fear, how can I remind myself that beginnings are sacred and that I am always supported in my journey?
What would it feel like to trust myself fully? To know I have the tools to respond to what life brings?
How can I welcome new experiences with openness while still remaining connected to my inner wisdom?
What are some daily affirmations of intentions I can use to trust in myself, feel supported, open and that everything will work out for my highest good?
What reminder can I carry with me that represents trust, guidance and the sacredness of this journey?
Life is full of opportunity. Use this process anytime you are ready to embark on a new adventure. Remember that you are not alone and support is available. Trust in this brilliant adventure and please allow your body, mind, heart and soul to come together. Shine your truth for the world to see and celebrate.
